handle applicator for the beverage and food industry
handle applicator
Atlanta is not only a manufacturer of packaging machines, but also constantly develops new proprietary products, such as the handle applicator, which can be used wherever packages with a certain stability, such as in the beverage, food or paper industry are processed. These are packages such. shrunken PET bottles, glass bottles, cans, cartons, tetra packs or even rolls of paper ideal. The performance of the machines starts at 35 cycles and reaches up to 75 cycles per minute. Two-lane machines can handle up to 150 cycles per minute.
Most of these new developments have their origins in special wishes or requirements of customers, but more and more frequently they are also created as sidekicks in the development of separate technologies. In the case of the handle applicator, this was also due to a request from our customers. The developed handle applicator has been improved over the years and is also perfect for attaching carrying handles, carrying straps to glass bottles, cans, boxes, tetra packs or paper rolls. Starting in 2007, more than 500 handle attachments have been installed at customers to date.

details
The carrying handle consists of a special self-adhesive tape (25mm wide), laminated with cardboard strips (150 ÷ 350 gr / m²) to create the carrying handle or the handle.
The machine automatically processes the handle shape (by laminating the tape with the cardboard strip), then applying these self-adhesive handles to shrunk packages or packages.
The machine has a standard unwinding device for wound self-adhesive tape (5000 m) as well as an independent cardboard strip magazine.
The machine receives from the upstream line transporter incoming shrinkage packages. The containers pass through the machine via the integrated container transporters. These transporters ensure the required distance between the containers and the correct position of the shrink containers for the correct handle attachment.
The previously placed on a defined division self-adhesive tape with the adhering cardboard strip is attached during the passage of the container at the front of the container and dragged. The cut of the adhesive tape to the required length of the carrying handle is made by a rotating knife. The length of the carrying handle is defined by a light barrier. The adhesive tape or the carrying handle is centered on the top of the container during the passage. The cut end of the tape is pressed by various levers to the shrinkage package to ensure a secure adhesion even with heavier containers.
